About F Newsmagazine

What happens when one of the country's leading art schools puts out a student newspaper?

You get a newspaper that is read all over the city. Each month 12,000 copies are distributed free at colleges, cafés, bookstores, record stores, galleries, art supply stores at over 250 locations throughout Chicago.

The artists you will read about tomorrow give you their incisive take on our culture today in F Newsmagazine. They also give you a privileged entry into one of Chicago's most fascinating communities, the art school rated #1 by U.S. News and World Report.

We've had interviews with political commentator Barbara Ehrenreich, filmmakers like Jackie Chan, and cutting edge artists like Christo, Andres Serrano, and Laurie Anderson; fascinating features on popular and alternative culture; and provocative essays on cultural politics.

Irreverent, Angry, Seriously Wacky

We also have bold, new journalism, like reporter Quanah Humphreys auditioning for Clown College or calling telephone psychics when the school administration won't answer his questions; and groundbreaking scientific experimentation, like our photo demonstration of how many household objects you can fit into one student's baggy pants.
